Izumisano City sits in the southern part of Osaka Prefecture and has two quite different sides: a mountainous inland area around Inunakiyama, and a coastal area centered on Rinku Town and Kansai International Airport. Since travel time and the mood of each area differ a lot, it helps to decide in advance which side you want to focus on.
Using open tourism data published by Osaka Prefecture, this article groups 23 spots in Izumisano City by rough character — mountain temples and hot springs, coastal shopping and viewpoints, and historic sites around Hinano — to help you plan a route.
Details on each individual spot are listed further down this page; this text focuses on how to think about getting around the city.
Inland: Inunakiyama hot springs and shrines
In the Oki district in the south of Izumisano, Mt. Inunakiyama is home to the temple Inunakisan Shippouryuuji and older places of worship such as Hibashiri Shrine. Several Inunakiyama Onsen inns and bathing facilities cluster nearby, including Fudouguchikan, Inunaki Grand Hotel Kisenkaku, Yumoto Onsensou, Minamitei, and Inunaki Onsen Center, making it possible to combine a hike with a soak in the hot spring.
Public transport here can be limited, so getting around by car is common. Historic spots near Hinano, such as Hine Shrine, Jigen-in Temple, and the Former Mukai Family Residence, pair naturally with an Inunakiyama-focused, inland itinerary.
Coast: Rinku Town and Kansai International Airport
On the coast, Rinku Town centers on Rinku Premium Outlets, Rinku Pleasure Town SEACLE, and Rinku Park, forming a hub for shopping and strolling. Across the water sits Kansai International Airport, and the Kansai Airport Observation Hall 'Sky View' offers views over the airport and sea.
This side is easier to reach by train and works well as a stop before or after a flight, or during a layover. Food-related spots such as Izumisano Fishery Cooperative's open-air market (Aozora Ichiba) and Kitashoji Sake Brewery are also located closer to this coastal area.
Opening hours and closing days for individual facilities can change, so it's worth checking official sources before visiting.
